As for Courtney, you couldn’t pick a better breeder. I am not saying this because of my dog purchasing experience. I have known Courtney since 1985 in high school. We were extremely close for many, many years and I still consider her one of my best friends and favorite people even though we don’t see each other very often. I remember her first Harlequin, Disney. I was there when she got her second, Bismark. I helped her get her Italian/German stud, Shiner…the father of my Bentley. So I am qualified to speak on her behalf. I have watched her with animals for 20 years and you could not find a better friend to the animal kingdom. She is truly amazing with dogs and is a champion for the dane nation. I wouldn’t buy any dane without her help/guidance/insight. As for her breeding skills, she is unmatched. She did “make” me my man Bentley (haha) who is, by the way, the coolest dane you will ever see. He is a show marked mantle with the most amazing personality. He lives here in Orlando and has a “brother” my 5 year old Chesapeake retriever, Peish (named by my then 2 yr old goddaughter Hannah). They run, play, swim in my backyard all day long. He then jumps back in the pool one last time for a quick bath before coming in to be dried off for some quality time with me. He is the best cuddler ever. Sooooo smart, sooooo sweet, soooo athletic and would protect me from anything. I absolutely adore him. He is 7 months old, over 120 lbs and an amazing athlete. He actually jumps into the pool like those dogs on tv in the competitions. It is really funny to watch. If you have time go check him out on MySpace. (www.myspace.com/bentleydane). There are some cool videos on there and I will update frequently with more pictures/vids. There is a fairly large dane community on MySpace. Perhaps you should get yours up and running when you get Ava.
I have a wonderful dog that I got from Courtney Cobbs. She's a great person and breeder. When I first called her about getting a Dane from her, she asked me a hundred questions. Like, What was I going to do with the dog, was it going to be an outside dog, did I plan on breeding? If I were ever going to get another dog, it would be from Courtney. She's great, and she loves her dogs and she loves the breed. She will do everything there is to do if you need any kind of help. I got my dog almost 2 1/2 years ago when I live in Arkansas. My dog--Amos, is now a full grown dog. I took him to the vet a couple of months ago to have him weighted and he weighed in at 243lbs. He is not fat at all, he's just very big. I just had to tell Courtney what the vet had said. She was so shocked about his weight, they usually do not get this large. Amos has a wonderful temperment, and a great companion. I hope that you give Courtney a chance to show you what good breeders are all about. I feel so sorry for you and the problems that you have had with a very bad breeder. Those are the kind that should not be in business. Courtney and her dogs will once again bring happiness to your home and heart. Sandy and Amos I have a
pup from Courtney's litter. first of all, courtney has been terrific
with all my questions, being a first time puppy mom. but we have Andre
(formerly known as Bacchus) and he his extremely healthy and energetic.
we did keep him in the house with my husband and I until he had all his
shots and stuff....besides potty breaks and walks thru the city. I was
very cautious of what and who Andre was exposed to. not that I had to
worry too much as I was confident that courtney brought up healthy
pups. (I was just paranoid
just want you to rest assured that I and I'm sure many others have never had any reason to complain about the service and professionalism that courtney gave as we prepared our lives for our new baby. but I do have to say, she will MAKE SURE that YOU are qualified to have one of her babies. which should make you feel really good.
thanks for your time. Ryan and Dawn Bracken (and Andre)
Hi my name is Iris and I purchased a puppy from Courtney from her March
litter. We love Samson and what makes him wonderful is his temperament
and beauty. This is our 2nd great Dane so we knew exactly what we
wanted. Courtney was great to work with. Kept in touch with us through
the whole process. We were a little afraid of buying through the
internet but everything was on the up-and-up.
Yes, as Courtney has told you we took a very long, but worth while drive to AR. Adam and I were able to spend time with all of the pups, along with Shiner and Sachet during our trip. Both Shiner and Sachet had great temperaments (the best we have seen in any breed of dog) along with the pups. We remember Dalton, and he was very sweet, healthy looking, and energetic just like all of the others. We highly recommend you adding one of Courtney's pups to your family; it was obvious to see that she takes pride in what she does.
It is hard to express everything via email, please feel free to call us for more information.
Anita & Adam Dean Well...All I have to say is that you won't be disappointed with Courtney's pups. We have a Male Mantle of her litter out of Shiner and Paris. Where ever we take Trooper he is a hit. Most people's first remarks are "OH MY GOD!!!! That is the biggest most beautiful dog I have ever seen". He is a show stopper where we go!!!!!!
The best part about getting one of Courtney's dogs is her responsiveness and honesty when asking questions or voicing any concerns. I keep in touch constantly with her and I NEVER get tired of talking Danes with her. I personally would not have a problem purchasing another Dane from her in the future and probably plan on doing so when my elder Dalmatians pass on. I have really gotten into the dog scene recently (i.e.: shows, obedience, joining the local kennel club etc) I have developed quite a network of fellow Dane an dog people and Courtney is right about the health guarantees. You can take every precaution to breed the most healthy Dane possible but bottom line there are no absolute guarantees. The most important thing is to find a breeder whom you can trust that does not breed indiscriminately and breeds for health and temperament and I believe you have found that in Courtney.
Picture of our Trooper who just received his CGC and is a star performer in his obedience classes! Send pictures of Dalton!!! I want to see. He now has his Rally Novice Title!!
