Shiner

Shiner is from German and Italian lines with an average lifespan of 10-13 years. I have wanted one from those exact lines for almost 20 years. I had to fly out of state with 10 years of my pictures and pedigrees (and lots of $$$) and spend an entire weekend going over them to get permission to buy one with full breeding rights (in November of 2004). Shiner is worth every dime, every minute, and lives up to every expectation I could have imagined! He turned two in December. He is about 35.5 inches and 185 lbs now. He is gorgeous and big-boned, but still somewhat lanky at this point -- like a 7th grade basketball player, but will continue to fill out over the next year. He should be over 200 lbs full grown. He passes along his gorgeous head, floppy lips, and gentle demeanor to his babies. As I said before, he is the most loving dog in the world... and he loves EVERYBODY! He is a hugger. Every morning, he hauls the front half of his body up onto my bed and wallows his head around on me until I put my arms around him and hug and kiss him for at least five minutes before he will let me get up. He is goofy and gentle and brilliantly intelligent. He was born pre-programmed with house training, leash training, sit, lay down, come here, and get out!  I barely had to teach him anything! He is also a toy fanatic!!! The first thing he does when he comes in from outside is go straight to his toy chest and carry as many toys as he can at one time, until he has every single one in the middle of the den. Then, he will lay in the floor and play by himself for hours. He is just a joy to have around!
